Frequently Asked Questions

The following are a list of prerequisites: Identify your Oracle HFM administrator. This person or team will be necessary for completing several steps. Install a GroundRunner (GR) on the HFM server (recommended) or a server that has access to your Oracle HFM instance, HFM database, and the JAR files hosted on the EPM server. Apply all whitelisting for Workiva so that the GR can communicate back to Workiva. Often times the assistance from your infrastructure engineering and network engineering teams is required to complete this task. Install Java Runtime Environment 8 or newer on the GroundRunner server. Verify that the PATH environment variables are configured correctly so that GroundRunner can find and use JRE.

It is recommended that you work with your Oracle HFM administrator to build and proof out the POV within HFM Extended Analytics (EA). After building the correct POV in EA, the POV can be used in your Chain.
